AVIATION ENGLISH COURSE

This Aviation English has been designed to help international student pilots improve his/her knowledge of aviation terminology and phraseology, as well as plain English. The objective of the course is to build a broad-based foundation of functional English within an aviation context focusing on active listening, active reading, speaking and writing. The course is based on and meets the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) holistic descriptors: Vocabulary, Structure, Pronunciation, Fluency, Comprehension and Interaction. This course aims to exceed ICAO’s Level 4 English Proficiency requirements.

Aviation English Course Requirements

  • Minimum 360 hours in classroom

Location

Our Aviation English course for international student groups (10 or more students) are offered at our campus in Cornwall, Ontario*. Located at the NAV CENTRE Training and Conference Centre, this facility offers spacious meeting rooms equipped with the latest technologies, comfortable student accommodations, accomplished chefs and exceptional recreational facilities.

The NAV CENTRE offers:

  • 70 state-of-the-art, intelligent meeting rooms;

  • A full range of modern AV equipment;
  • 560 guest rooms;
  • Dining room, banquet halls, pub and tuck shop;
  • A refurbished 19th century stone farmhouse for smaller functions;

  • Soccer fields, baseball diamonds, tennis and volleyball courts.

The facility combines the technical sophistication of a modern learning centre with the comfort and amenities of a resort hotel. Practical flight training for students at the Cornwall Campus* is conducted at the Cornwall Regional Airport.

Individual student training programs continue to be offered at OAS’s location at the Ottawa International Airport.
